Introducing “The Dolls”
DIRECTOR – MELISSA GELONESE
Having established herself as an experienced entertainment industry professional across a broad scope of dance/performance, fashion, production, talent co-ordination and creative design for the last decade, Melissa brings a wealth of experience to ROGUE DOLLS AUSTRALIA.
Melissa, a former primary school teacher, established her own dance/promotions business in Sydney in 2000.
The business provided entertainment for large-scale corporate events and cabaret shows.
Melissa then established “Adrenalin Models”, a nationally performing cabaret show.
Melissa performed and sent dance troupes over-seas to perform numerous times, including China, India and in Hong Kong, as part of the show backing the Rolling Stones (2005)
Melissa obtained the contract for the Parramatta NRL and Parra Power soccer cheer squad contracts between 2002-2005. As a major asset to the NRL club, Melissa developed positive relationships with corporate sponsors, and revived the image of the cheer-squad, resulting in major amounts of publicity. This, along with her elite style to game day entertainment resulted in statements such as this, by Damien Kelly (executive with Parramatta Eels NRL) “Melissa changed the face of cheer leading within Australia!”
In 2006, Melissa moved to Las Vegas for a major entertainment contract, as a choreographer, performer and co-producer.
Melissa was also involved in costume design and creative concepts.
During this time in Vegas and LA, Melissa attended many VIP/celebrity events, walking the red carpet along side Paris Hilton, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, and many well-known Vegas personalities, under the management of celebrity LA publicist- Deborah Hayter.
Melissa has produced swim-suit calendars, talent search events, corporate launch events and many creative concepts, utilizing her multi-skills as a writer, stylist and costume designer. She has her own swim-wear label (ROGUE), which will re-launch in the near future.
Melissa established ROGUE DOLLS AUSTRALIA, shortly after returning from Las Vegas, hence the troupe’s unique signature “Vegas/pussycat dolls/cabaret” style.
